Yields and crude oil took a breather on Thursday to allow stocks to enjoy some gains. The U.S. 10-year yield dipped below 5% and WTI slipped 1.2% to US$101.20. The TSX rallied 1.09% or 386 points as materials outperformed all sectors by a mile. Silver rose 3.6% to US$65.15 and gold advanced US$80 to US$4,343. Only two sectors, including utilities, lost ground on Bay Street. Meanwhile in New York, the S&P advanced 1.14%, the Nasdaq 1.69% and the Dow 0.62%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
