The major indices finished in the red on Thursday in a choppy session. Though the TSX and Nasdaq were essentially flat after shedding a handful of points, the S&P slipped 0.18% and the Dow fell 0.85% as earnings were mixed and uncertainty in the U.S.-Iran war pushed the price of oil higher. Several American stocks cratered on earnings: Honeywell Aerospace<\/a> -23.16%. Trade Desk<\/a> -6.8%, and AppLovin<\/a> -19.66%. Meanwhile, the memory sell-off continued with Western Digital<\/a> tanking 13.03%. In contrast, AT&T<\/a> rallied 2.82%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Toronto, BCE<\/a> jumped 3.27% on the strength of recent World Cup broadcasting revenues, and Equinox Gold<\/a> shone 4%, but Celestica<\/a> slid 12.96%, Premium Brands<\/a> tumbled 14.29% and ATS<\/a> plunged 27%. Telcos were the strongest sector, while eight others fell, including discretionary, real estate and tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elsewhere, Bitcoin gave back US$350 to US$64,435, silver declined 50 cents to US$61.40, and gold fell US$5 to US$4,241.
