The TSX gained 0.33% or over 110 points Wednesday on the strength of materials and energy. Gold advanced 1.5% to US$4,135, silver added 1.65% to US$59.65 and WTI rose another 2.5% to US$86.45 as attacks between the U.S. and Iran widened. Key names included Baytex<\/a> up 1.34%, B2Gold<\/a> 3.15%, Vermilion Energy<\/a> 7.85%, Bird Construction<\/a> down 6.71% and Rogers<\/a> sinking 4.63% as telcos were among the weakest segments. Sectors were mixed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American stocks struggled to gain ground. The Dow was flat, but S&P slipped 0.14% and the Nasdaq fell 0.57%. Super Micro Computer<\/a> jumped 19.84%, Westinghouse<\/a> rallied 10.04%, and Nvidia<\/a> rose 2.3%, Losing ground were GE Vernova<\/a> at -8.69% and ServiceNow<\/a> -6.47%. Bitcoin declined US$500 to US%65,880 and the U.S. 10-year yield climbed to 4.659%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
