Markets bounced back on Tuesday as materials led the TSX higher and tech boosted American indices. The Canadian index rallied 1.17% or over 400 points. Sectors were mixed on Bay Street after mining and energy stocks did the heavy lifting and staples lagged the most. Silver jumped over 4% to US$58.55, gold rose nearly 2% to US$4,080 and WTI climbed 2% to US$84.90 as the U.S. and Iran continue to trade fire and disrupt the flow of crude. Key names in Toronto: Celestica<\/a> 11.12%, Whitecap Resources<\/a> 2.65%, Thomson Reuters<\/a> -4.72%, West Fraser<\/a> -4.45 and Discovery<\/a> 10.49%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wall Street, the S&P advanced 0.89%, the Nasdaq 1.29% and the Dow 0.74%. Chips and memory stocks roared back after recently slumping. Sandisk<\/a> soared 14.27%, Western Digital<\/a> 12.51%, Micron<\/a> 12.17% and Intel<\/a> 8.64%. Meanwhile, Danaher<\/a> sank 10.99%. Bitcoin<\/a> added 1.6% to US$66,360. The U.S. 10-year yield continued to climb, up to 4.628%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
