The trading\u00a0week began with the TSX drifting down 0.47% or by 171 points. Nine sectors led by staples, telcos and materials lost ground while healthcare was among the two sectors that enjoyed any gains. Materials continued to sink: silver down 1.45% to US$58.20 and gold slipping\u00a0US$75 to US$70.55. After the U.S. and Iran traded strikes over the weekend, WTI rose nearly 2% Monday to US$70.55, though both sides have since vowed to cease hostilities. Major movers on Bay Street: BlackBerry<\/a> jumped 9.98%, Telus<\/a> -2.48%, TC Energy<\/a> -1.57%, Brookfield Business Partners<\/a> -5.61% and MDA Space<\/a> up 6.99%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast, tech led Wall Street higher after the Nasdaq\u00a0rallied\u00a02.1%, the S&P 1.17% and the Dow 0.59%. Corning<\/a> soared 15.72%, Comcast<\/a> 4.52% and Western Digital<\/a> 11.16%, though Super Micro Computer<\/a> sank 8.1% and Honeywell<\/a> declined 6.41%. The U.S. 10-year yield held around\u00a04.374% while Bitcoin gained 1.25% to US$60,330.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
