As a fragile peace hangs over the US-Israel-Iran war, the price of oil continued to sink as WTI fell 2.3% to US$74.80. Despite that, energy as well as materials were the strongest sectors on the TSX, which rose 0.43% on Monday to return above 35,000. Sectors were mixed with telcos and real estate fading the most. Gold added US$37 to US$4,192 while silver rose 0.5% to US$65.05. Key names on Bay Street included Alamos Gold<\/a> up 7.87%, Atkins Realis<\/a> 6.11%, Telus<\/a> -1.59%, Parex Resources<\/a> -5.24% and MDA Space<\/a> -5.23%. Canada’s May inflation rate jumped to 3.2%, due to the spike in oil prices from the Mideast war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a different story on Wall Street where the S&P closed 0.37%, the Nasdaq sank 1.32% while the Dow advanced 0.29%. SpaceX<\/a> plunged 16.43% on its third-straight day of losses, while Super Micro Computer<\/a> soared 15.66%, Coherent<\/a>\u00a0jumped 9.22%, Moderna<\/a> sank 7.22% and Palantir<\/a> tumbled 6.98%. Bitcoin slipped 1% to US$64,400. The U.S. 10-year yield climbed to 4.509%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
