Wednesday saw the U.S. 10-year-yield retreat from the previous day’s surge and settled around 4.58% by the close. In response, American stocks rallied nearly across the board as the S&P advanced 1.08%, the Nasdaq 1.54% and the Dow 1.31%. In Canada, the TSX jumped 420 points or 1.25% on the strength of materials, discretionary and real estate. Only energy suffered losses as WTI sank 5.5% to US$98.45.
