Never mind the war and inflation, here’s the AI rally. The Nasdaq rose 0.88% to a record close of 26,635, while tech lead the TSX over 200 points higher to approach fresh highs. Meanwhile, the S&P popped 0.77% to make its own record–above 7,500–while the Dow rose 376 points past 50,000. Nvidia<\/a> continued to post new highs, up 4.39% while Cisco<\/a> leapt 13.41%, AppLovin<\/a> 6.97%, JB Hunt<\/a> 7.09% and Intel<\/a> -3.62%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Toronto, materials was the only sector that failed to gain. Silver slumped over 6% to US$83.80, gold slipped US$40 to US$4,65, and WTI held just under US$102. Financials and telcos were among the strongest areas. Major movers: Quebecor<\/a> 7.8%, TFI International<\/a> 6.69%, Boyd Group<\/a>\u00a06.37%, Manulife<\/a> -5.71% and Brookfield<\/a> 5.41% after beating the street. Bitcoin<\/a> advanced over 2% to US$81,340 while the U.S. 10-year yield held around 4.485%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
