The ongoing rally in AI and the fragile ceasefire in the Middle East lifted markets to end the week on a record note. The S&P jumped 0.84% Friday and the Nasdaq leapt 1.71%, both closing at record highs. The Dow added a few points and was basically flat. For the\u00a0week, the S&P gained 2.3%, the Nasdaq 4.5% and the Dow 0.22%. Big names included Intel<\/a> soaring 13.96%, Micron<\/a> 15.49%, AMD<\/a> 11.44%, Tesla<\/a> 4.02% and Expedia<\/a> -9.02%. The U.S. 10-year yield edged down to 4.362% while Bitcoin<\/a> added 0.5% to US$80,275.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WTI crude more or less held around US$94.90 while gold advanced US$30 to US$4,715 and silver rallied 2.5% to US$80.25. Materials were by far the strongest sector on the TSX which climbed 0.65% on Friday and 0.55% during the week. Key names: B2Gold<\/a> 7.25%, Teck Resources<\/a> 6.82%, BlackBerry<\/a> 5.77%, Energy Fuels<\/a> -8.1% and First Quantum Minerals<\/a> 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
