After a strong open, Toronto and New York indices failed to maintain those gains and instead declined into the close on Monday. The S&P closed -0.39%, the Nasdaq -0.73%, the Dow gained 0.11% while the TSX was essentially flat, shedding 25 points. The lack of a resolution in the US-Israel-Iran war pushed WTI crude more than 5% higer to US$104.75. In contrast, gains in precious minerals were muted: gold rose 0.26% to US$4,505 and silver 0.31% to US$69.85.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
