After a post-Christmas slump, markets in Toronto and New York began\u00a02026 up: the TSX 0.54% or 170 points. the S&P 0.19%, the Dow 0.66% and the Nasdaq essentially flat, down 6 points. On Bay Street, nine sectors were positive, led by healthcare and energy while tech lagged the most. Most active were CNQ<\/a> up 1.36%, Cenovus<\/a> 3.57% and the Bank of Nova Scotia<\/a> 1.16% while Energy Fuels<\/a> soared 15.39% and Denison Mines<\/a> jumped 13.74%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In New York, Micron<\/a> rallied 10.51%, Western Digital<\/a> 8.96%, Intel<\/a> 6.72%, Sandisk<\/a> 15.95% and AppLovin<\/a> which sank 8.24%. Silver, which has been volatile lately, regained 1.2% to US$72.40, gold increased $9 to US$4,328 and WTI held at US$57.30. Bitcoin rose US$1,670 to US$89,940. The U.S. 10-year yield edged up to 4.195%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
