The U.S. Fed didn’t change the key lending rate and markets reacted with a neutral session across the board. The S&P and Dow were essentially flat on Wednesday while the Nasdaq climbed 25 points. The TSX added 18 points. The U.S. 10-year yield remained around 4.391%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major movers on Wall Street were Caesars Entertainment<\/a>, jumping 4.91% and Intel<\/a> up 3.3%. The other big news of the day was the U.S. Senate passing the stablecoin bill. Coinbase<\/a> soared 16.32% while credit card companies Mastercard<\/a> sank 5.39% and Visa<\/a> slid 4.88%. Bitcoin, though, gained US$76 to US$104,470. The stablecoin bill still needs to pass the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Seven sectors were positive on Bay Street, lead by healthcare and tech. Energy lagged the most. Major movers were Bausch Health<\/a> up 8.46%, Iamgold<\/a> -3.11%, Pembina Pipeline<\/a> -2.45%, Keyera<\/a> 5.7%, and Methanex<\/a> 3.47%.
