WTI crude jumped 4.6% as tensions in the Middle East rose Wednesday after reports that the U.S. will evacuate its Iraqi embassy in Iraq, given heightened security concerns. WTI nearly touched US$68 a barrel and was instrumental in lifting the TSX 97 points to 26,524, a new high for the Canadian index. Consumer discretionary and tech also rallied, while staples lagged the most. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
