With the TSX closed for the national holiday, Wall Street opened the second half of 2024 with a modest rally. The S&P advanced 0.28%, the Nasdaq 0.84% and the Dow 44 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, tech led the charge higher as Tesla<\/a> popped 6.06% and Apple<\/a> 2.82%. Elsewhere, Walgreens<\/a> closed Monday -4.05%, Norwegian Cruise Line<\/a> -5.53% and Merck<\/a> 3.34%. The U.S. 10-year yield surged to 4.471% as Bitcoin<\/a> climbed 0.95% to US$63,200, gold added US$5 to US$2,322 and WTI jumped 2.35% to US83.50. Bay Street reopens tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
