Markets leader Nvidia<\/a> recovered some recent losses by rebounding 6.47% Tuesday. Its performance lifted the Nasdaq by 1.24% as the S&P added 0.35% and the Dow shed 0.8%. The cruise lines sailed to generous gains as Carnival<\/a> popped 7.87% and Norwegian<\/a> 4.8%. Pool<\/a> sank 8.49% and Tesla<\/a> advanced 2.49%. The U.S. 10-year yield inched down to 4.23%, but Bitcoin<\/a> rose 2.7% to nearly US$62,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canada’s May inflation rate climbed unexpectedly to 2.9%. All but two sectors sank, led by discretionary and materials. Staples rallied the most. Major movers: Celestica<\/a> 4.58%, Telus<\/a> -2.03%, GoEasy<\/a> 2.32%, Ballard Power<\/a> -6.27% and Capstone Copper<\/a> -6.14%. Gold shed US$15 to US$2,319 and WTI slid 1% to US%80.80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
