Thursday’s session was lazing in the summer sun as trading barely reached half of normal volumes. Despite that, the S&P and Nasdaq hovered near all-time highs reached the day before. The two indices were basically flat, while the Dow advanced 0.2%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the big movers were Illumina<\/a> up 7.42%, PayPal<\/a> 5.49%, Lululemon<\/a> 4.79%, Dollar General<\/a> -3.64% and Nvidia<\/a> -1.18%. The U.S. 10-year yield continued to sink as it fell to 4.285%. Bitcoin<\/a> gave back 0.8% to trade around $70,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The TSX performed a little better by rising 0.38%. Worries over possible OPEC production cuts lifted WTI by 2% to $75.50. Besides energy, materials enjoyed strong gains while real estate led the laggards. The sectors were mixed. Major movers: Transcontinental<\/a> jumped 8.84%, Suncor<\/a> 1.47%, Celestica<\/a> -6.95% and Canada Goose<\/a> -3.68%.
