Slightly better-than-expected U.S. consumer data lifted markets Friday, but the S&P and TSX closed the week flat. The S&P added 0.6% Friday to nearly 5,300 while the Dow was flat for the session and the Nasdaq rallied over 1%. For the week, the Dow sank 2.3%, but the Nasdaq added 1.4%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biggest Wall Street gainers were tech: Tesla<\/a> 3.23%, Nvidia<\/a> 2%, Apple<\/a> 1.62% and AMD<\/a> 3.6%. Ross Stores<\/a> soared 7.8%. The U.S. 10-year-yield slipped to 4.467% while Bitcoin<\/a> climbed 1.7% to US$69,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The TSX advanced 0.42% Friday to nearly 22,300. Nearly all sectors rallied, led by staples, financials and materials. Among the big movers were Celestica<\/a> up 5.61%, Bombardier<\/a> 5.59%, Gildan<\/a> 5.33%, Iamgold<\/a> 3.2% and TD<\/a> up 2.25% a week before the big banks report.
