It was a downbeat session in Toronto and particularly New York on Thursday after stocks tumbled in the final hour of trading. Wall Street’s major indices all slid over 1% with the Dow as much as 1.3% even though the U.S. 10-year-yield edged down to 4.309%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major movers include AMD<\/a> by -7.5%, Paramount Global<\/a> -9.02%, Alphabet<\/a> (both classes) -2.52% and -2.53% , Albemarle<\/a> -5.65% and AbbVie<\/a> -5.36%. Bitcoin<\/a> rallied 3.35% to $68,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Canadian equities fared slightly better as the TSX gave back 0.47% but remained above 22,000. Only three of the 11 sectors gained, led by consumer discretionary. In contrast, staples plunged as did industrials and materials. Notable names were Dollarama<\/a> soaring nearly 10%, Lundin Mining<\/a> up 5.79%, Tilray<\/a> -5.73%, B2gold<\/a> -2.89% and Lightspeed<\/a> -5.83%.
