Markets were lackluster Tuesday, though closed with modest gains. The TSX added 0.25% with sectors being mixed. Once again, materials and energy rallied, but discretionary, tech and real estate lagged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making news was WSP Global<\/a> which was hit by a short-seller’s report and closed -5.44%. Tilray<\/a> soared 16.72%, First Majestic Silver<\/a> shone 16.36% though Shopify<\/a> finished the day -3.43%. Struggling Indigo<\/a> went private and shares rocketed 22.39%. Gold edged up ever higher to $2,300 an ounce while WTI advanced 0.5% to $85.50 a barrel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also lacking direction was Wall Street, which saw the S&P gain 0.11% and the Dow lose just as much. The Nasdaq climbed 0.23%. Paramount Global<\/a> jumped 14.97%, GE<\/a> 6.7%, Micron<\/a> added 4.35% but Ulta Beauty<\/a> finished the session -15.55% and Intel<\/a> closed -8.16% after a disappointing quarter.
