Monday morning trading began in the red and finished flat on both sides of the border. The TSX added 31 points as sectors were mixed. Materials and financials were strong, but real estate was weak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minerals populated the big gainers including Silvercrest Metals<\/a> up 10.17% and Fortuna Silver Mines<\/a> by 4.81%. Elsewhere, Blackberry<\/a> jumped 10.75% after reporting, though Ballard Power<\/a> closed -10.24% and Celestica<\/a> -5.38%. WTI held around $78 as gold edged up to $2,185 an ounce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In New York, the S&P was also flat, the Dow inched up 0.12% and the Nasdaq sank 0.41%. Red-hot semi stocks slid, including Nvidia<\/a> at -2% and AMD<\/a> at -4.34%. Trading the most hands was Apple<\/a> which advanced 1.18%, Moderna<\/a> surged 8.69% and Paramount Global<\/a> rallied 6.31%.
