The TSX climbed 0.46% Tuesday, surpassing gains made by the S&P at 0.31% and the Nasdaq of 0.44%. The S&P made another all-time high while the Nasdaq rose to a new 52-week high. All but two sectors on Bay Street were green, led by consumer staples and materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key movers were Iamgold which soared 15.11%, Nuvei<\/a> 6.84% after striking a deal with Adobe, Hudbay Minerals<\/a> 6.71%, Cenovus<\/a> 0.99% and BRP Inc.<\/a> which closed -4.29%. WTI crude slipped 0.3% to $74.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trading was a little choppy in New York as the Dow declined 0.24% to return below 38,000, a day after reaching that summit for the first time. Earnings influenced many of the biggest movers. United Airlines<\/a> beat and climbed 5.41%. 3M<\/a> plunged nearly 11% after offering weak guidance, and DR Horton<\/a> sank 9.09% after offering a mixed quarter. Elsewhere, Verizon<\/a> jumped 6.62% and American Airlines<\/a> 2.53%.
