Markets began yet another week of volatility as stocks, especially in America, bounced between positive and negative Monday. The S&P closed -0.39%, the Nasdaq -1.2% and the Dow finished even at 0.08%. WTI and WCS crude jumped over $3 a barrel each to $114 and $103 respectively and helped lift the TSX 0.53%. In Toronto, telcos and materials also rallied while tech declined.<\/p>\n
Dye & Durham<\/a> surged 17.43% further while Canfor<\/a> rallied 8.65%, Tilray<\/a> jumped 6.64% and Crescent Point Energy<\/a> rose 4.35%. Losing ground were Shopify<\/a> down nearly 11%, Lightspeed<\/a> sliding 7.89% and Ballard Power<\/a> falling 4.51%.<\/p>\n The U.S. 10-year yield hovered around 2.88% while Bitcoin<\/a> slid 4.4% to below $30,000, continuing its choppy trade. Major movers on Wall Street included AT&T<\/a> adding 2.22%, Ford<\/a> down 3.33%, Nvidia<\/a> retreating 2.5% and Twitter<\/a> cascading 8.18% on more unpreditable Tweets from Elon Musk which continues to cast doubt on him buying the social media company. Speaking of which, Tesla<\/a> slid 5.88%.
