Tuesday saw North American markets attempt to bounce back, but finished with mixed results. Stocks rallied at the open, but dipped into the negative midday, and finished both positive and negative. The S&P rose 0.24% and the Nasdaq 1%, but the Dow closed -0.27% and the TSX -0.59%. The decline in crude oil didn’t help the Toronto index as WTI slipped over 3% below $100 a barrel and WCS fell to $85.50. All the major sectors were in the red.<\/p>\n
Suncor<\/a> declined 1.26% in heavy trading, though Athabasca Oil<\/a> jumped 4.82%. Also rallying were Cronos Group<\/a>, up 13.15%, and Element Fleet Management<\/a> by 11%. Tumbling were Bausch Health<\/a> by 27.12%, Dye & Durham<\/a> down 8.66% and Lion Electric<\/a> sliding 8.14%.<\/p>\n The U.S. 10-year yield dipped below 3% as tech mounted a comeback. Apple<\/a> rose 1.68%, AMD<\/a> 2.73% and Adobe<\/a> 4.38%. Elsewhere, Chipotle<\/a> jumped 3.67%, Fortinet<\/a> 6.76% and Pfizer<\/a> 1.73% after announcing it was buying Biohaven<\/a>, which soared over 68%. Losers included Equinix<\/a> at -3.69%, Sherwin-Williams<\/a> -3.83%, Prologis<\/a> -5.21% and Newell Brands<\/a> -6.76%. Like equities, Bitcoin<\/a> mounted a modest comeback by advancing 0.81% to $31,200.
