On a predictably sleepy Christmas Eve Friday on the TSX (Wall Street was already closed for the Christmas break), the Toronto market added 10 points during its half session. Energy, industrials and materials were up while tech and real estate were down, though all moves either way were mild.<\/p>\n
Advancing were Hexo<\/a> by nearly 3%, Baytex<\/a> by almost 2%, Xebec Adsorption<\/a> up 6.38% and Chorus Aviation<\/a> climbing 2.08%. Not so jolly were Goodfood Market<\/a> at -4.3%, Wildbrain at -4% and Shopify<\/a> which closed at -1.44%. WCS crude climbed 1.35% to $58.58 per barrel while the Canadian dollar held at 78 cents against the American greenback.
