Markets closed the week and made more highs after a strong week. The Fed’s Jay Powell made dovish comments Thursday that resonated Friday. The S&P rose 0.88% to a new high of 4,509 while the Nasdaq surged 1.23% to 15,129 another new high. Not to be outdone the Dow rallied 0.69%.<\/p>\n
Big gainers included Freeport-McMoran<\/a> leapt 5.65%, Diamondback<\/a> jumped 4.93% while semis rallied inckuding AMD<\/a> by 3.54% and Nvdia<\/a> by 2.56%. On the downside werr Moderna<\/a> at -4.58%.<\/p>\n Oil helped lift the TSX by 0.69% to a record high of 20,644. Tech, materials and real estate rallied while staples lagged. Big gainers included Fortuna Mines<\/a> up 5.54% and Montreal tech names Lightspeed<\/a> by 5.22%, and Nuvei<\/a> at 5.05%.
