Minutes after the world’s richest human, Jeff Bezos, blasted into space, Tuesday markets opened and took off. Stocks nearly recovered all of Monday’s heavy losses, triggered by the rise in Covid cases from the Delta variant. On Wall Street, the Dow jumped 1.62%, the S&P 1.52% and the Nasdaq 1.57%, while the Russell soared 3%.<\/p>\n
All the Dow components were in the green as Boeing<\/a> rose nearly 5%, Honeywell<\/a> almost 4%, American Express<\/a> 3.72% and American Airlines<\/a> 8.38%. Big tech roared back, led by Apple<\/a> up 2.6% and AMD<\/a> up nearly 5%. The U.S. 10-year inched up to 1.214%, though a far cry from just two months ago. Gold was flat around $1,810 an ounce, while Bitcoin<\/a> slipped nearly 3% to slip below $30,000.<\/p>\n The TSX rebounded 1.1%, led by tech, energy and financials. Big gainers included Lightspeed<\/a>, popping nearly 5%, Blackberry<\/a> by 6.58%, Air Canada<\/a> 6.48% and Magna<\/a> 3.62%. The price of crude recovered some ground with WTI adding 1.51% to $67.42 a barrel, and WCS climbing almost 3% to $53.85 per barrel. Arc Resources<\/a> gushed 2.52% and Prairie Sky Royalty<\/a> advanced 2.85%.
