Markets in Toronto and New York were flat Friday, no surprise during the low-volume, post-Christmas period. Technically, the Dow made a new record close, up all of 0.08%.<\/p>\n

But the main point is that investors remain confident about world trade and markets. Question is, Will it last in 2020? World indices, including the TSX resumed trading. The Canadian exchange slipped 0.07%.<\/p>\n

Big gainers included Clearwater Seafoods<\/a>, up 4.86%, and Stuart Olson<\/a>, rocketed up 17.61%. Beyond that, stock movements were limited today whether up or down. The rare exception was cannabis producer Hexo<\/a> which plunged over 18% after announcing a surprise share offering<\/a>.<\/p>\n
