Despite light holiday trading, the Nasdaq rallied 0.8% to close at 9,022.<\/p>\n<p>A major factor was <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/company\/view\/67\/AMZN-Q\">Amazon<\/a>, which announced its best <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2019\/12\/26\/business\/amazon-holiday-sales\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holiday season<\/a> ever. Amazon stock rose 4.45% Thursday. Another e-giant, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/company\/view\/4277\/FB-Q\">Facebook<\/a>, gained 1.3%. The S&amp;P didn&#8217;t do too badly either, climbing 0.51%, while the Dow gained 0.32%. By the way, those indices made new records too. American traders remain optimistic about U.S.-China <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2019\/dec\/26\/us-stock-markets-record-highs-trade-deal-dow-jones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, the Santa Claus rally is in overdrive this year and shows no signs of abating.
