On China's mobile/fixed line market there is lots of price competition. Data and smart phone business is exploding there. They still have a 2G network so there are a lot of problems.

Seems to be an uptrend in-place from March. There is a little bit of consolation right now and is above its moving averages. Looks pretty good overall. If it pulls back to $47-$48, it could be a buy.

Sold her holdings last year because she saw cracks in the horizon regarding profitability and future CapX. Penetration is almost there. Even the rural area, which was supposed to be the growth, is actually fully penetrated. Consider buying at about 30% less. 3% yield roughly.

Largest cell company in the world. Expect they do pretty well over the next 5 years but competition could get a little tougher as there has been a new restructure of the Chinese telecom industry. Government would like to see a more balanced playing field.

Great growth story in the Chinese emerging market. Have a 70% share of Mobile and 400 million customers. Regulators are trying to change the playing field in China so risk has risen. Capital expenditures could increase with the governments requirement of 3G standard. Use caution.

Sold her holdings when she saw little cracks on the horizon. These have now come into play. Includes changes in the regulatory environment. Government requires G3 implementation and they don’t have the CapX to do it. Also forced mergers by the government. Not sure of the sustainability of profits. Too expensive.

A really good proxy for the emerging market consumer. European, UK and US consumers may struggle for the next 12 to 18 months. The Asian consumer is still employed and earning higher wages with a pent-up demand for these toys. This is the biggest player there.
