DON'T BUY
Caledonia Mining
Cobalt is trading at an extraordinarily high level at around $50 a pound. Hasn't followed this one too closely but his sense is that it is fairly low grade. Other companies have much more attractive deposits of cobalt and none of them seemed to be getting the recognition they deserve. Would prefer Geovic (GMC-T) in Cameroon West Africa, which has a much more favourable grade..

Geovic Mining
Cameroon West Africa. Attractive deposit of cobalt. Not getting the recognition they deserve based on the price of cobalt. Good grade.

Spinning off their gold as a separate company. Think both companies are going to be winners and he can't understand why this stock is being beaten down so badly. Operating a lead/zinc mine in Nova Scotia and are struggling a bit and ramping up but actually made some profit last quarter. The spin off will have in the order of 1 million ounces of gold, some of it at a fairly advanced stage.

BUY
Thinks it will go a lot higher from this level. A little bit of uncertainty hanging over the financing. Having completed all the details of getting their financing package together. Primarily copper but a significant amount of cobalt. Moving towards production.

TOP PICK
Peak Gold. Ltd.
In the final stages of merging with 2 other emerging mid tier gold producers. The 3 together will have the critical mass that will get noticed by some of the larger investors. Excellent resource base and a pipeline of development projects.

TOP PICK
Pioneering seafloor mining and well advanced on their first development project off Papua New Guinea. Trading at not much more than the value of its cash in the banks.

TOP PICK
On the forefront of very important frontier of the mining industry. About to begin development of the world's first seafloor copper/gold mining operation.

Mutual fund of junior resource companies. A great way for people who are not really close to the sector to get a diverse position. Price came down along with most of the companies. More than a mutual fund, a very talented group of people that have been involved in the industry for a long time. Trades at a discount to its NAV.

COMMENT
Have an incredible deposit, but dealing with the government in Venezuela is an entirely different realm than dealing with other jurisdictions. Didn't get the government approval they were hoping for.

DON'T BUY
Barker Minerals
Some very good early-stage exploration projects in B.C. Will need a lot of money to advance this and this is not a good time in the resource market to be raising money. There will be a lot of dilution in the share price to raise the money.

BUY
One, if not, the largest undeveloped copper/gold deposits globally. Anglo American (AAUK-Q) has agreed to fund the next $1.4 billion to earn a 50% interest in the project. Way undervalued relative to other projects of that size and nature. A lot of upside from this level.

STRONG BUY
Peak Gold. Ltd.
In the process of merging with 2 other companies, New Gold (NGD-T) and Metallica Resources (MR-T). Will form a company that has multi-gold mines in production and move it very quickly into a mid-tier producer. Backed by one of the top financial groups in the industry. Share price will probably go sideways during the merger but should be followed by a lot of upside potential.

BUY
Terrane Metals
Has a lot of trouble getting investor respect. Very attractive copper/gold deposit in northwestern B.C. Took a hit when Galore Creek project was put on hold. Really unfair as Galore Creek was inaccessible but this one has road accessibility. An overhang has been Goldcorp’s (G-T) position in the company but management is working on some arrangement to convert the convertible shares.

BUY
Kabichi in Chile looks to be an enormous gold/copper system. Still early-stage. Grade looks very attractive. Needs a lot more drilling, but at this stage it is very attractive. Also have projects in Argentina, which also look very attractive. Price is down from its peak but has the potential to bounce back.

COMMENT
Nickel deposit that looks very attractive. Immediately adjacent to a very profitable mine that was developed by Falconbridge. Facing a dismal outlook on the base metal prices. Expect it will be only months before there is a revaluation on base metals stocks.
